Welcome

Kia ora, I’m Irene — a photographer based in Kirikiriroa, Waikato.

I love capturing real people, genuine connection, and the stories that make us who we are. Whether it’s whānau, small businesses, or community moments, I’m drawn to honest imagery that feels natural and meaningful.

I’m Filipino/English, but Aotearoa has been home for most of my life. I grew up in Waihi Beach and moved to Hamilton in 2004. Outside of photography, you’ll usually find me spending time with my two kids, getting outdoors, or heading back to the beach whenever I can.

Photography first became a creative outlet during my marketing career, but it truly grew into something more while I was on maternity leave. I studied with The Photography Institute NZ and was lucky to be mentored by renowned Māori photographer Erica Sinclair — an experience that deepened my love for visual storytelling and connection through imagery.

These days, I feel incredibly grateful to do work that allows me to meet amazing people and tell their stories in a genuine way. I’m also a co-owner and contributor of Truestock, a stock photography platform focused on authentic imagery from Aotearoa.

If you’re looking for relaxed, meaningful photos that feel like you, I’d love to connect.

Let’s tell your story together.
